Kids Skipping College - good or bad?

According to this article, the sky is falling because slightly fewer kids are attending college. I say good for them! If you have an interest that really requires a degree, college is great. But FAR too many get worthless degrees and piles of debt, just to say they've been to college.

Academia - welcome to capitalism. You have overpriced your product and consumers do not see a return on their investment. I was a part time adjunct assistant professor for seventeen years at a major university while working in the real world. . The faculty mindset was obvious and had no clue about the real world. I left twenty years ago and continue to work in my practice. Wise decision.

I say good. Colleges aren't really teaching anything useful anymore. IF they start teaching again, then SOME high school graduates might benefit by going to college. But college has never been for everyone. People work with either their muscle, their mouth, or their mind. College is for mind workers.

And it's not absolutely necessary even for mind workers.
I said that if I wanted to know philosophy, etc., I could get books from the library and learn about those things, and my mother said that then, nobody would know I knew those things. And I thought, Oh, was it only supposed to be for impressing other people?-- I hated school. When I finished high school, I went to a business school that called itself a college (I mean that "College" was part of its name). The school went bankrupt after a few months. I saw no reason to go to another one. I started working more shifts at the curb service service restaurant.
