Atlas Shrugged, Part 3

My husband and I saw the movie last night, initially I was a little nervous because we were the only people in the theater. By the time the movie started, we were 2 people of 40 (yes, I counted them as they came in), and not the youngest people there either.
The acting wasn't great, but I enjoyed the movie for what it was. There were a couple of key points from the book that I thought should've been included, but the movies are never quite what we want anyways. A little disappointed with the Cheryl situation, I had to explain to my husband what happened (he hasn't read Atlas but loves the movies...go figure) because he didn't quite understand the suicide.
All of that being said, I am proud of the effort put forth by the producers in all 3 movies. It's a lot to tackle with a limited budget. I'll look forward to adding the third movie to my Atlas collection.

I have re-read _Atlas Shrugged_ cover-to-cover at least five times in the last 48 years. Back in the 70s when there was talk of Diana Rigg and Rock Hudson, it was a hobby among fans to cast the movie. So, as you say, we all have it in our heads; and we all have our own versions. This was John Aglialoro's version as instantiated by Harmon Kaslow and a team of others. When you or I can assemble our own team, the outcome will be different; and our friends can criticize our work for not being what was in their minds.Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|
