Should I do it?

I'm contemplating reaching our to our Republican Governor-Elect to offer some input. First thing I'm bringing up is the huge need for streamlining of the licensure procedure for doctors in our state. It's a mess and one of the results is a shortage of doctors. I'd like to point out that I had a front-row seat to watch a once-great great state getting destroyed by leftists governors and can give some input on what not to do. But, part of me says, "Naw. Not worth the risk. Just enjoy your beer and watch it burn." What say you?

I'd like to add something here for you. I have worked in the medical field most of my life. I won't bore you but I've never seen doctors so unconscious of their responsibilities in my life. It is frightening to watch. My daughter in law died because of neglect by her doctors, I know this for a fact. My BFF spent 105 days in the hospital and has now contracted COVID while hospitalized even though she already had it once before and also got vaxxed twice! I worked in Army hospitals (3). I was Director of Medical Records for 3 years in a hospital. I managed a 5 doctor plastic surgical clinic. I managed a Federally Qualified Health Center (Dental, Medical and Mental Health for 16 years. My friend wasn't getting medical care in the hospital so she left and went into a Rehab facility (has really great food).I call her the Bionic woman. Hip, Knee, and Elbow! All replaced.

I had an MRI on my knee November 18 and am still waiting for the doctor to call me with the results. I even took him a disc in case he couldn't access my medical portal. No contact. Guess he is too busy doing something else to use a telephone.

I’m noticing this level of incompetence in other industries as well. I’m having shop built on my property and the guy is unwilling to do a satisfactory job in an acceptable period of time. Was supposed to be 10 weeks from start to finish and this idiot still isn’t done, he started June 1st 2022. Many problems as well… Restaurant staff seem inexperienced and slow, I have an allergy to gluten, and I can no longer trust that they will fulfill my requests to leave something off. Me and My wife last night said that we will limit our eating out due to this to only know safe restaurants. My wife and I took a trip to California to visit family during Thanksgiving and we both were happy to leave as the whole state just seems dumb.

It almost seems like a trailer for the move Ideocracy:

I usually stay out of politics, but recently got a chance to speak to Heidi Ganahl, Republican running for governor here in Colorado. I asked her what she was going to do about the homeless. She recommended a book to read, that outlines an approach to solving the homeless problem. She said that was what she plans to do. Unfortunately, she lost the election. But I did feel like I was at least "doing something". I say go for it. You lose 100% of the shots you don't take.

    "Not worth the risk."
There is no risk except for your time. So you should do it. I think you should ask who they listen to with regard to this issue. It would be good to have a letter to the gov elect that starts right with something they have the power to do, e.g. "I urge you to consider adopting the recommendations recently proposed by the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission (IMLCC)." State exactly which actions you want the governor to take, why they will help, and very briefly refute counterarguments. It must fit on one page. Be positive on paper and in person about how much help the governor can be on this issue. It will go without saying (do not say it) that you will be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

You could mail this letter, but it would be even better if you talked to a senior staffer and handed the letter to the staffer. Sometimes you can meet these people and get their cards at fundraisers.

If you can find someone who lobbies streamlined licensure (maybe an insurance industry group?), ask them to tell you if they ever need a letter or phone call from a citizen, you'd love to help.

Government moves slow by nature, so if they enact reforms within few years, that's fast.

I have a selfish interest in a freer market for healthcare services, so I hope you do it.
