Checking my premise, I find that I strive to be good in an evil world, which only makes it more difficult.
Even the best of men, (Hebrew for Human-ladies) have yet to gain Total control over the brain and the body...maybe in the next cycle of civilization (coming to an earth like planet near you very soon), and further Human evolution...we will gain that control.
Hoping the Best of US survive and not the Worst of Them.
