Hear the Earth's Magentic Field

There is a link in the article which plays the sound. Quite cool! I would be interested in an analysis of the various sounds: basic thrumming, high frequency "glass breaking"/"metal clinking", big things creaking. I imagine the low frequency "thrumming" is the basic movement of the field and magma, and that the high frequencies are interactions near the sensor with groups of charged particles, but who knows?
