Report: Frickin’ Fracking Could Ruin Everything for Leftist Activists - John Ransom - Townhall Finance Conservative Columnists and Financial Commentary - Page 1
This article and the one that he links to from a year ago are both interesting. I have also read other articles about the fracking technology and its use in oil shale development.
I have mixed feelings about this and the timing of it. It is great that it will likely succeed and create a large number of new jobs in the US and other areas. Its great that it will lower our dependance of oil from other sources.
The problem is if it does pull us out of this recession and create 10 million jobs, that will validate Obama's policies as working, even though they have nothing to do with the success. It will set up another 20 year road of getting even larger government and less freedom because we gain prosperity again.
It is both exciting and disheartening at the same time.

I believe these drones that are wrongfully in charge of unelected gov't have the following ideological mindset: if it's truly good for America by strengthening it economically, militarily, culturally or spiritually, then it must be denied or put down at any costs, this includes at the cost of the Dems favorite excuses, 'the little guy,' ' the children, 'the environment' and 'the economy'.
The only thing that makes me think they may not stop it, is because I think Obama is intelligent enough to realize he needs it in order to validate his policy. Once validated, he can push to remove the constitutional amendment limiting the president to two terms. With the popularity that the economic growth would give him, he could probably repeal it and then get a third term.
If that is his goal, I think this the best way he could go about accomplishing it.
