2022 Invitation for overseas talents to apply for the Excellent Scientists Fund in China
PROJECT POSITIONING
The Excellent Scientists Fund aims to attract and encourage overseas scholars (including non-Chinese foreign talents) who have outstanding achievements in natural sciences, engineering technology, etc. to return to China (come to China) to pursue their career.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

For people born after January 1, 1960 and before January 1, 1982 , there must have PhD degree in Science or Engineering etc. and should be hold positions equivalent to associate professor or above in famous universities and scientific research institutions; or professional and technical talents who hold senior positions in international well-known enterprises.

For people born after January 1, 1982, there must have PhD degree in Science or Engineering etc. And should have 36+ months experience in a scientific research position at a university or research institute abroad before April 10, 2022. Applicants with outstanding performance can apply for an exception from the 36-month requirement.
03
Applicants who are not full-time in China or have returned to China after January 1, 2021, should resign from their job abroad or have no jobs abroad and be working full-time in China for more than 3 years.
04
Obtained scientific research or technical achievements recognized by peer experts, and demonstrated potential to become academic leaders or outstanding talents in their field.
SALARY AND WELFARE
01
The salary will be between 500 thousand and 1 million RMB annually (basic) with additional standard housing fund and social security insurance. The exact salary will be determined case by case.
02
Additional to the 1 to 10 million RMB Excellent Scientists Funds of government’s support.
03
Help with children’s academic enrollment.

Due to the epidemic situation, the applicant does not need to come to China. After being selected, he will come to China and entry procedures within 2 years.

especially the part about Charles Lieber, the former chemistry department head at Harvard who was arrested for violating a DOD agreement with regard to his 2004 invention of nanowire-based virus detectors to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Notable other Thousand Talents Program nanotechnologists include Fraser Stoddart and Mario Lanza. Several of the big names in my field have gone to the "dark side" because with the Chinese, they no longer have to write proposals to get their looted government funding.
