    Thanks XenokRoy,
    Another great article from Stossel:
“To succeed, the crusade to cut spending needs an ideological understanding of how unsustainable our current course is, not just a narrow appeal to short-term self-interest. People will have to see the wisdom of giving up government benefits now -- in exchange for something more abstract: a future free society in which our children won't be burdened by debt and taxes.”

I fear the people will not awaken to the necessity until the inevitable tragedy lands on their own front porch, and then it may be too late.
    Regards,
    O.A.

I fear the people are sliding deeper and deeper into the creeping doom of collectivism. They are not simply sheep being led to the tragedy but lemmings who run towards there doom without a care in the world for what happens after they run over the cliff. I find it amazing that people whom I have respected in the past are joining the lemmings today. It is sad that the only thing that appears to be able to wake them up will be the tragedy of which you speak.

They say objectivists are greedy, selfish. I do not see this. I find so many without a rational philosophical base inclined to disregard long term solvency and financial stability of our nation in favor of their own immediate desires, by virtue of government largess. This short term immediate gratification mentality has been fostered, encouraged to the point of blind destruction.
