In my regular odd moment of early morning clarity today it dawned on me that vaccines aren't just a religion. They are a government-backed religion. These new mRNA vaccines actually did not complete the scientific process before being introduced. We're being told via endless media bombardment what to "believe" about them. Soon, we may have government staff coming door-to-door to make sure we're saved. Don't dare question the validity or you'll be shunned and worse. If you're not a believer you're a bad person. People are lining up at these makeshift temples to celebrate getting the shot, dressing up in gowns, getting tattoos, expressing their vaccine status proudly on their social media. The few who suffer dire consequences are not discussed...even considered as justified sacrifice. Am I stretching things here? If so...very, very little.

It's tough for me because I really am a man of science. I've dedicated the past year and a half to fighting this pandemic through many late nights, endless study, more meetings than I can count and I even lost a close family member to it. As Dagny said, "I studied engineering. When I see something I see it." Such clarity comes with a weight on your shoulder. I'm getting very close to shrugging.
