In the 70s I rode a bus to school in Washington. So...in theory I was "bussed". She's probably just stretching the truth a little for her agenda.

As a Democrat VP, she can make up whatever she wants to fit the narrative she wants. Biden did as VP and did so all his career. Biden is now the Liar in Chief and he is well known for appropriating other people's stories to fit his narrative. Just about all lifelong career politicians do so. But Democrats have refined the skill to an artform.

I worked with a (much younger) guy who had been bussed in IIRC 5th grade. At the time, he just accepted it as face value.
HOWEVER, as an attempt at integration (my friend being white and Jewish), it was less than successful. Mainly, the pupils on the bus make triends during a one hour bus ride twice a day. Who'd have thunk it!?!?

Ummm, well no, she's probably not lying on this particular comment. Bussing was used to bring the poor kids to the schools in the wealthier neighborhoods.

When I was a kid Norwalk had probably a dozen elementary schools, Each school was attended by three types of children:
1) Walkers -- lived within ~3/4 mile of the school
2) Equal Opportunity -- lived within one or more of the low-income housing developments aka 'the projects' and were loaded on the bus and driven 30 minutes in traffic to the school all the way across town.
3) Bus Riders -- lived >0.75 mi from the school and were picked up by the 80% full busses for a short 2-5 minute ride to school.

I was a Bus Rider. I lived 0.8 mi from the school.

as an aside:

One time while boarding the bus I was jabbed in the leg with a pin. The girl who stabbed me proudly displayed the pin with my blood on it. The next day when I boarded the bus, I stopped, and told her if she stabs me again I would but her face through the window. There was a lot of animalistic 'whooping' the bus driver asked what was going on. I said I don't want to get stabbed with a pin again. The driver looked at the girl, she froze, and I walked past. I never saw her again.

Asking if any Democratic politician is an outright liar is to answer your own question. Unfortunately, all Democratic politicians are outright liars in today's day and age and I can think of no exceptions - just some who are worse than others.

We had bussing (it was called "desgregation") in Louisville, KY from 1975 to about 1990, though I'm not sure exactly when it ended. I was 10 when it started, so not sure about the SCOTUS ruling and how they got around it. I remember there was alot of protesting, etc that went on at that time.

I am 62 and I remember that there were no poor black children in our school system, so they bussed a bunch of poor white children from the old north end to the south end of the city. I was one of them.

I was on those same Bay Area busses ‘72-‘73. SCOTUS may very well have struck down bus integration. Berkeley continued to practice it. I’d assume so did Oakland.
