Duh. A minimum wage hike just jacks up prices.
I know this isn't news to anyone on this site, but it does illustrate that leftists just mask their real intent with pablums and bromides.
Here's what the real policies should be regarding business:
1) No corporate taxes. Any tax on a business gets passed to consumers precisely the same way a minimum wage does - effectively taxing people twice. ALL "corporate" taxes should be eliminated.
2) Eliminate the minimum wage - entirely. Let businesses and employees decide on how much a particular task is worth and who is willing to engage in that task for that price.
3) A law that says that interference in an employment arrangement by the government constitutes de facto tortious interference and such matters may be pressed against individuals in government positions personally and individually, ie without immunity.
4) Eliminate payroll taxes including FICA, Medicare, etc. If the government wants to tax income (another subject), make them do so by ticking off taxpayers directly than by stealth taxation through business owners. ;)

I'm so sick of "Oh, it's for the students!" I went to an elementary school that was an old (1890's) building which had hot water/radiators for heat in each room, no air conditioning, and a gym that was just big enough to play dodgeball...Things didn't get much better in Jr. or Sr. High School. I think I turned out ok.
1. The Minimum Wage shall be at $15,000 per hour.
2. The workweek shall be no more than 14 hours per week. Double time for overtime or for weekend work.
3. The work week shall be Tuesday and Wednesday. All other days are the weekend.
4. Money and crucial goods shall not be hoarded. Local committees are authorized to seize hoarded money and goods.
Didn't I read a Directive something like this fantasy in some book somewhere? 10-289 maybe?
Eliminate income taxes. They stifle production, creativity, and create unemployment.
Eliminate taxes to support state propaganda centers (public schools.)
Hang everyone who has sworn to defend the constitution and has purposely broken that oath.
