Funny...I was just about to comment on this topic. I do equity analysis and build portfolios for my former boss in the investment advisory industry. I love doing it. I'm starting to see a pattern in the market that is different than the last four years. And, make no mistake - who's in the white house has a massive influence over how the market behaves. I wish it weren't so. What I'm seeing now are starts and fits. Upward-trending equities are really jumpy. I'm getting stopped out much more than I did with Trump. I did great with Trump...but anybody could have. In short get ready for more volatility. If you trade options the ole' "long straddle" is already in our conversations...just betting on volatility. To answer the OP's question - No. They won't be good for the markets for the normal retail investor - those trying to hold a 401K full of mutual funds, etc.

Well, they are going to be very profitable for my oil and airline shares.

I'm not sure what I got a down vote for. I made a factual statement. My oil stocks have already went from my worst producers to the middle of the pack (up 38%) and my airline stocks edged up (14%) as well.

I guess reality isn't welcome here. Overall my portfolio is down about $130 overall if it soothes the disappointment.

Big business sunk Trump, particularly foreign entities, is it any wonder that oil and air are on the rise??? I'd doing GREAT with my Vegas gambling stocks too.
