Paul Harvey recorded this in 1965. Yet listen closely, was he as big a prophet as Ayn Rand, and did he define the dangers we see today as well as she did?

    Too bad his conclusion dragged God into it. Same with that great 1964 speech by Ronald Reagan linked to by Commander. Religion is the trigger to all the dissent and destruction that demolish every civilization. Religion and rationality are opposites. Rand knew that.

      Paul Harvey was very much into using God, as a part of the American culture. Religion is only a weapon when people choose to make it one, barring that, we have politics.

        Yup. And political beliefs are a type of religion, too. All belief systems are a form of brain infection. A few may actually be good for you, like the body's immune system and helpful bacteria. And as I may have said before, God is the ultimate virus.

    Loved it...so many have spoken yet few have listened...such is the cycle of civilizations.
    We've come so far, from our bicameral beginnings, to an enlightenment the brought to a precious few, the gift of conscience and the mind and eventually from slavery to freedom and back again to the bicameral existence we once endured.
