LET"S TALK
Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Good questions asked by the last of the great Glitter Groups, "QUEEN."In this world of fabulous electronics and artificial intelligence it is often difficult to tell one from the other. I look at the state of affairs of today's world and for the most part, I couldn't feel more removed from it. Then I look back at my rather long life, and the things that I can remember well, the Real things come to the fore. The birth of a child is very real. watching him or her learn to crawl, to use a sippy cup, to use it's hands in order to eat. That's real. A picnic on July 4th, a family get-together, working at home, are real things. Politics as performed today, the result of misguided philosophy, the idiocy of the left -- all fantasy. That is why it's so hard for rational people to get interested in current affairs and to participate in them. They are unreal. A fantasy, if you will. When I mentioned the above to the BW all she could say is, "You have a weird mind." She's probably right. She's only known me for 75 years.
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is such a classic piece of music, and yet so sad when you understand the story behind the story.
Your conversation with the BW is right out of what I said with my wife yesterday. There's this "east area rapist" story here in the region. This guy (a former cop!) raped and killed dozens of people a few decades ago. They caught him last year via DNA. Anyway...they set up a special court room for his case (pleading guilty) at the local university so that they could produce the court proceedings in an ALL-DAY broadcast where people would read in great detail all the sordid details of his rapes. They read this on the air all day! Late in the day my wife was sitting there watching this and my son was in the room. I said, "What in the hell motivates somebody to sit there and watch that?!" Then it hit me...I'm the one with the "weird mind" because I'm repulsed by that. I'd rather be fishing or taking a hike than sitting there being spoon feed all that misery the local tv station set aside an entire day for. My son laughed out loud and what must have been the look on my face when I looked at him and said..."I think I'm actually the weirdo here..."
A stunning submission from some scientist and Ted Talkers is that nothing is solid and everything, including us are just holograms.
I submit that what has been discovered is Not that nothing is solid but instead...We have discovered how solidity comes to be.
But one must ask himself: "Are we the image or are we the reflection"...for what is a hologram but a reflection of the real thing...
The world and everything that happens has been made to look foreign, not real, the opposite of everything we know.
