Some might know I like golf. I know there have been some duffers here, also. After playing a bad round about six months ago I came off the course angry at my performance and vowed to do something about my skills and really improve my game. Well, I dove head first and it has paid off. I hired a specialized golf fitness trainer to help me deal with old injuries and golf-specific workouts, started practicing all facets of the game (putting, chipping, etc) and had a third lesson with the head pro at our course. He's really a swing guru...a genius. I also got out a played a couple rounds with our current club champion and solicited his input on my game. I wanted to really smash my drives - do something really beyond what a guy my age is expected to do. Well...it has come together really well. I broke 80 for the first time last week. A few days ago I drove my ball further down a fairway than I ever have, 330 yards. I'm thrilled. It's only a game. But, it is so cool to see hard work result in real improvement. I'll begin competing in match play tournaments this year and I'm looking forward to it. Just thought I'd share in my little victory in the game of golf.
