The Issue is whether network infrastructure is considered part of the Internet, or used by the Internet. Just like releasing ICANN from US mgmt, local ISPs are the ones who map domains and IP addresses, so having China mgmt does nothing to what the ISPs are doing. Obama's kill switch was implemented by turning off DNS services on command. DNS cache poisoning has been a weapon of State to block sites for a while. When someone actually questions WHY this "progressive" development is happening, there is really very little justification for it on an individual basis. Does a $1000 cell phone provide unique access? Does the ability to download 100 movies in a second, change the amount you're consuming (watching)? Who is uniquely benefited by 5G? - Surveillance! In the mid 90's, data network tech moved from distributed delivery over a mesh network, to a single thread requirement for unique pathways for access. That means that 2 computers in the same space now requires 2 full and separate pathways to the same content. Rather than investing actual engineering and providing cost benefit analysis, data networking has become a shell of what was engineered, to the idea that a global network is primarily focused on Human readable BS. China and Huawei have zero sense of privacy, and have no ethics issues with the degradation of any individual's human potential.. Thankfully, we won't have to be concerned as alternate networking can't be blocked without destroying the fabric that we depend on now. @theisdn

We face such control because of Obama's giving the Internet, once under our control, to the UN. They promptly put a Chinese in charge of it. Time for a new alternative.

They have meat processing for chickens and pork now, which gives them the chance to insert whatever they have and send it back, but no one questioned it, any one who did was labeled "conspiracy theorist".
