The United States, the officials said, was caught by surprise: Egypt and the Emirates, both close allies and military partners, acted without informing Washington, leaving the Obama administration on the sidelines.

    Referring to the line about Egypt and the Emirates supposedly being "allies" in the Times article.

    Hmmmm, the Arabs have concluded that Oprahma can't be trusted.
    Seems they are smarter than many of the American people.
    (and much smarter than the NYT.)
