Utopian fantasies are not a modern invention. Plato's "Republic" was the first documented example of a idealistic vision of collectivist society, and there were probably others before that. These are the product of an infantile mind not capable of accepting reality (hard to think of Plato as "infantile" but I calls 'em as I sees 'em). Some purveyors of these fantasies are smart enough to know they won't work for the people, but because of their seductive promises, make a good way to build power. Bernie Sanders is clearly one of these, an old school communist elitist, rotten to the core.
