What's an AMA?
AMA stands for "Ask Me Anything." On the day of the AMA, we'll put up a new "AMA" post announcement. You'll then have the opportunity to ask the AMA guest questions in the form of comments on that post. Other Gulch members will vote on those questions. The most popular questions will rise to the top. The scheduled guest will then review and answer questions by responding directly to those comments.

Past AMAs
Judge Andrew Napolitano ( http://www.galtsgulchonline.com/posts... )
Atlas Shrugged Producer Harmon Kaslow ( http://www.galtsgulchonline.com/posts... )

How? When? Where?
The day of the actual event ( September 22nd, 2015 ), go to http://galtsgulchonline.com/RandPaulAMA and your browser will be automatically redirected to the official AMA post where you'll be able to post questions and interact with the senator. Rand Paul will be here at around 4PM ET. The Gulch post will be up early to give everyone an opportunity to get there questions posted and to vote on the best ones.

I want to ask Dr. Paul about the REINS Act, which he has supported. The idea behind REINS is that if a regulatory rule has $100 million impact on the economy, then congress has to vote on it.

I have proposed and sent to Senator Paul's Office an alternative, which I call the regulatory bill of rights. Among the advantages is that it gives private citizens a right to challenge regulatory agencies directly. It also provides a financial incentive to private citizens who can find a more cost effective way to achieve the same regulatory goal. My thoughts were inspired by a brilliant entrepreneur friend of mine who wanted to incentivize entrepreneurs to make government more efficient. My blog is ugly right now, but here is the link http://hallingblog.com/?p=1125

Reading through this I generally agree with and think it would fix a great deal of "slaves through regulation" kind of problems we have today.

"F) No regulation shall be valid or enforceable that Congress, or the federal government do not have to comply with the regulation in question, with the exception that Congress or the federal government do not have to comply with the regulation in question during a National Emergency."

I think a very clear definition of what "National Emergency" would be needed or we end up with things like... The economy is in an emergency state so its a national emergency because we say so. This would create a government ends up doing anything it wishes so long as it can state any and all emergencies as defined by government condition.

Does Rand Paul, like his father, intend to retire US troops from foreign countries, and also abolish the Federal Bank (private entity placing US in debt-induced servitude) ? Without prejudice of other radical measures, these two alone would already allow for some serious reduction of the budget deficit, and some serious cleanup of the financial so-called "industry".

I would like to hear him clarify and commitment to his political and legal position on abortion and related topics. I am still very confused about what exactly that will be if he is elected. I have a sense/concern that his stance will not be a libertarian one.

Somehow, I just expect that Dr. Paul would be in the Gulch...

No, I meant the real Gulch (as well as ours).

I overheard in a conversation between a couple friends of mine, "Who is Rand Paul?", used in a similar context to WIJG?... and I couldn't help but smile.

I just hope in a year and change he will not only be known as Dr. Paul, but Mr. President.

Not sure I will be up and about that time to ask this question, "Will Rand Paul expose the Church of Climate Scientology and its sister organisation, Greenpeace, that is destroying fracking, natural gas, coal and the energy industry, and consequently, the whole of the world?"

    Thanks, Scott!
I've got a bunch of questions of my own [some of them are duplicates to what I see here] but they all center arounda majority of the damage BO has done in and to our country have been through Executive Orders. How can a President rebuild the damage, especially without using the same means?

I think this is the best guy in the hopper. The question is: "Is he electable, first as the R, and then against the D"

My question is what are your perceived gaps in winning the secondary election, and how will this affect your selection of a running mate.

" The question is: "Is he electable, first as the R, and then against the D""
I'm pretty sure I've never voted for a Republican, but I absolutely would support Rand Paul based on what I've heard so far. I like to think most people are moderate libertarians but that hasn't been a mainstream option.

Not sure I will be up and about that time to ask this question, "Will Rand Paul consider using TACTICAL nuclear weapons to destroy ISIS? And, if not, how will he deal with ISIS? (specifics, not words like firmly etc.)" .

    Dr. Paul,

Your political career has inspired me to eventually run for the House one day. Unfortunately, I am only an IT with an Associates Degree, but consider myself well educated in terms of economics, foreign policy, history and the Constitution. What advice would you have for me in regards to starting a campaign, fundraising, and gaining the support of the people against an opponent who likely has better on paper credentials and financial support such as a doctor or a lawyer?
