    So good to hear the words enunciated. I have read a similar version of the Galt speech only substituting real people for Reardon et al. It was interesting to see some eyes light up with discovery, while other looked around in bewilderment.

    This is great but I wish that President Reagan had narrated the entire Galt speech when he was alive. It'd be so cool have in my MP3 collection.

      You know, there is enough material of him saying enough different things in different ways that an enterprising person might be able to create that recording for you... Not just a hack job of splicing together word fragments, but an actual approximation of him saying those very things. I saw a show on History(?) a while back where they used a bunch of advanced techniques to add Hitler's voice to some of his silent home movies. They fed the computer all of the recordings and transcripts of hitler, so it could learn how he speaks and what he sounds like, then gave it the videos and taught it to 'read lips'. It then used all the mountains of data to create the audio track to match the video. It was fascinating!

    An interesting take--for I always have to compare it to the speech as Rand wrote it. But notice this one is speaking to the prime movers--whereas in Rand's original version, he addressed the looting masses first, and the like-minded ones last.

        You want to know what perspective is missing here? Hank Rearden's. Right after Jim Taggart blurts out, "Oh, you'll do something!" That's when Rearden starts blaming himself for letting them get away with it, and indirectly causing pain to men like Ellis Wyatt, Ken Dannager, and Francisco. That's when he picks up his hat and coat and walks out.

    I can think of certain "rulers" I'd like to lock up in a cell and play that speech over and over.
    Some fictional parts would have to be edited out but a lot of what the Galt character says works for the here and now.

    It is time to take down the power mad "Attilas"by refusing to fear their power and by exercising our equal rights. It is time to take down the "witch doctors" by refusing to feel guilty and ashamed for breaking the "burdensome" unjust laws invented by self righteous men, not God'. Government exists to "secure" our equal rights and a government that does the opposite is not legitimate. We must vote with our dollars, our vote and our lives to deny any access to power those who think that their self proclaimed superior enlightenment gives them superior rights, Godly justice requires that they reap what they sow. Those who want to make your rights inferior to theirs deserve to have their rights made inferior!
