I went myself Sunday night at 7:30 in Merritt Island, FL and saw only 17 people there - all anxious to get out. Tonight (2nd Friday - 9/19) at 7:30 in the same theater, there were 60 of us, and substantial applause.

I see Lincoln Square in Bellevue WA dropped out. These people here in W.WA are so xxxxxxx, but then again we don't say those kinds of things, we leave that kind of talk to them. It's just impossible to get through to them, either they are totally ignorant as to what is happening in the country/state/city, or they could care less.

There is a special screening in Omaha, Nebraska this Sunday at 2:15PM at the AMC Oakview Plaza 24 located near the Oakview mall. Don't miss your chance to see it! The crossroads are 144th and Center.

My wife and I went to see it on Monday, 15 September at The Palisades Mall in Nyack, NY. We were the ONLY two people in the theater other than the usher. After the showing, I asked the usher if he'd ever seen anything like two people in the theater. He hadn't - but he asked why that might be, and from this followed a half hour conversation where I attempted to give him the "big picture" about AS - and how it relates directly to him today. By the end of the conversation, he was clearly disturbed - specifically how all this could have happened in the US. His lack of education precluded my being able to clue him in to Rand's having grown up in Stalinist Russia, and her evident literary connection to the "great" Russian literary tradition. All of this was lost on him. Perhaps he will read it. I have my doubts.

I was at opening night of AS1 in Spokane three years ago. Had a dialog with the ticket seller. He had previewed the film the night prior - hadn't heard of Rand or AS until he saw the film. He then reached under the ticket counter and pulled out a beat up copy of AS -- he said that after seeing the film, he went out the following morning and bought the book - was already 1/3 through it! This guy was maybe 20 years old.. and he got the message on first viewing. That was the strongest testimony to the power that these films can have. And yet, as you report -- very very few people can be found in the theaters. I was there for ASIII opening night with 10 other people -- essentially empty theater. I am amazed that they are carrying the film another week.

I notice it is being dropped in all the Liberal states. Seems a little crazy that the initial releases were mostly in Liberal states, that wouldn't like the message anyway. They enjoy the government plan of income redistribution!!!

Washington and Oregon are two states with a liberal western half and an eastern conservative half. Western Washington and Oregon might as well be Northernest California (though parts of Northern California are conservative) while eastern Washington and Oregon might as well be Western Idaho.

Likely a business decision. If the seats were filled with paying customers they would show the film.
What area are you near (if you don't mind saying)? I spent all my summers growing up at Harbor Island (before it became so popular) and have relatives still in Pender and Onslow (and other) counties.

A very good friend lives on Harbor Island and his sister is next to Seapath. I'm in Monkey Junction. And you are right, am sure it was a business decision. I saw it 3 times and there were never more than 20 in theater and opening day there were only 5. Only one week was planned, but am certain if the attendance had warranted it, it would have been held over.

Is is really not possible to get this film distributed to a movie house in the entire state of Illinois that is not inside the corrupt crime-ridden Chicago Metro area northern part of the state? It strikes me that a duel launch to digital release would have been ever so much more profitable and practical, especially for those of us with mobility challenges or who are living in remote areas. As well, it could have been packaged with all three films as a marathon viewing experience that many would have paid handsomely for during the first heady days of the launch. Perhaps not so much for though later, after the community hype as cooled and the bad reviews have dashed our expectations.

We had ASI and ASII in Chas., SC. Only two theaters in SC for ASIII, closest one 2 hrs. away. Very disappointed. I will be buying the DVD, for myself and friends, when it comes out.

With virtually no ad campaign, what do you expect.
That, coupled with the left's denial of reality, has taken its toll an AS III.

we had ASII here in Mission/McAllen TX but the nearest showing now is 350 miles away in Houston. Plan on buying several sets of DVD's as Chrismas presents for everyone in my family.

Sadly, the only two theaters in my State still carrying it are an hour and a half away from me. They're in South Jersey, and I'm in North Jersey. Maybe that about says it. (South Jersey is far more conservative than North, and even has some separatist sentiment.)
